+Mr.Kitty+
These are my 3 favorite songs: "Not Dead Yet", "Inhale Exhale" and "Flowers for Boys"
I also really like "Home", the "Romance Nevermore" Remix, "Cycle of Violence", "Alter Ego" and "Cold"
Mr.Kitty's music has resonated with me for many years now. It gives me comfort I didn't know I needed. Like a hug from a stranger.
Its pure melancholic projection on reality is really mesmerizing and it stands out through many other artist's work in the same genre.
Personally, I adore how he works with his voice, creating multiple of them for different songs to emphasize just how many facades a person can have.
All the voices come from the same person with different perspecives and that is beautiful to listen to.

Here's my interpretation of all of Mr.Kitty's albums!
They're sorted by favorite - NOT by release date!
DEATH
DEATH is my favorite album from Mr.Kitty. My favorite type of voice - I named her "Agony" - is the most present there. The whole album is also very ambient and emotional. To me, the album represents the complete lost of control, a desperate fight to cling onto anything that keeps you sane. Anything you remember. Anything at all. Ready to die, but too scared to let go.
I've felt very similarly once and I'm sure others have as well. That's why it's so comforting. You're always taught to hide such feelings, to never speak of such expriences, because you'll hurt others who don't wanna hear about it. But here these songs exist. This musician has the courage to speak about these things. The things you were told to never speak of...
That creates safety. Safety andd acknowledgement in the pain and sorrow.
And there is no shame in acknowledging that you are suffering.
UNREAL displays a massive growth in character. Overall, I interpret the album in the way that; he understands in how much pain he's been all these years, without it necessarily always being his fault. Much reflection has been done and now he seems more honest with his feelings, even if they're not positive.
There's two new "voices" I have named "Rage" and "Real" and both of them reflect in their own way the acknowledgement of their circumstances and desires.
"Rage" does in fact scream his words and sounds as though he'd like to take revenge on the people who've hurt him, which is a perfectly valid feeling to have. Another interpretation of "Rage" could be that he's the relfection of these awful people and the pain they've brought, which could display a whole internal conflict with himself.
EPHEMERAL is a rather long listen - around 2 hours - but definetly worth your time. I would describe this album as an emotional rollercoaster. It has somber but very powerful songs. The main feeling I get from this album is the realization that something is just not right about the love he recieves. It feels abusive and transactional and the singer seems to truly suffer through that, trying to express that as good as he possibly can.
To me personally "Not Dead Yet" stands out among the rest of the songs. There's a melancholc, sentimental glimmer of hope that there's still a chance to change things if he just stays alive for a little while longer. If he can just hold on to that hope, things might just turn around. The alteration between the "voices" almost feels as though he's talking to himself right before deciding to end everything. To understand that "yes, things have not always gone the way you wanted them to, and partially that's on you, but you're also the only one who can make it better".
A.I. to me is the pinacle of the representation of an unhealthy relationship, and I'm not sure if everyone can understand these feelings that I feel when listening to it.
It shows the difference in true affection vs. a person only playing it up for personal gain. Loving someone who truly only takes advantage of the kindness in your soul, without it being noticed at first. Love makes him return to said person, even though there is nothing to gain. No matter how much he wishes for it. Not out of foolishness, but because - what I believe - he feels as though he has nobody else who understands him or cares to try. That tiny bit of "love" he recieves is enough for him to return. Over and over again, despite knowing that this is not what he wants. It's what he craves. Love. Like an addiction. So even if it's fake, he'll take it.
The song "HABITS" displays that quite perfectly. The cycle of an unhealthy relationship. "Pastel Ghost" does an amazing job as well as almost this internal monologue in his head.
TIME is the first album I ever listened to. Also the one to contain Mr.Kitty's most famous song "After Dark".
Most of the album is calm and translucent, as if attempting to appear like a ghost had sung the lyrics. I percieve this as a way of describing the "out-of-body" experience, where nothing feels real, as if seeing things happening to you from a whole different perspecive. "Time", in this state, does not exist. This feeling can linger fo minutes or hours or days. I assume that is also why this album's singing is so difficult to understand, since you can barely make out anything said to you in this out-of-body state of mind.
My favorite song from this album - which I also feel stands out the most - is "Rats", because somehow, this is the only song that is loud, as if the pain is the only thing that is clear to him. You still can't understand everything, but it's definetly more highlighted than the rest of the songs, which are almost all of somber nature.
ETERNITY can most definetly be described as a reflection of a lost and broken childhood, resulting in a deeply troubled teenage life.
Most of the album seems full of hopelessness and eludes with it's two songs "Mother Mary" and "Messiah" towards religion once again after "TIME" already had quite a few of them, which makes me believe that he grew up religious in some way. Perhaps this faith was destroyed during that time, leaving the singer feel as though he might've been abandoned by god himself, resulting in this album.
No matter personal preference, being abandoned by the thing/person you believe is supposed to give you hope is painful, to say the least.
Of course, this album also contains two well known songs of Mr.Kitty: "44 Days" and "Destroy Me", from which the latter has been used in a few animation videos over on YouTube.
LIFE I find to be the most difficult to describe. With it's mostly ambient electronic tracks it seems to depict something reminicent, in a negative way. Somebody he lost a while ago and keeps thinking about, someone he seemed to care for a lot. A childhood friend maybe. The person who he was, maybe the person who he planned to be - if you wanna see it in a more self-reflective way.
It also seems to me that there's a lot of guilt resting on the singer. Perhaps he's blaming himself for not being able to help or simply didn't know how. Because of that he isolates and/or pushes people away, despite really seeming to want someone to rely on. A friend. Anybody. But what if that person gets hurt again, and it repeats...
It's definetly one of the most sad albums from Mr.Kitty to me. Which is awfully ironic, considering that this album is called "Life". And isn't it a blessing to be alive? Logically, "Death" should be the saddest thing to happen. Maybe that's up to who you ask...
FRAGMENTS seems to be one of the most personal albums of Mr.Kitty. There are many songs that appear to have been created about people in his life, as well as for himself.
I personally like the cover art and title going so hand-in-hand with each other. It shows that there are many facors to be taken into consideration when it comes to a persons behavior. That there is always a reason why someone reacts the way they do, even if they might not know why. Even if they might never know. That we are all just reflections of the things that happened to us throughout this life.
My favorite song of this album is "Cycle of Violence". It confronts a topic that is still relevant to this day: That men have always been depicted to be evil, much more likely to hurt others than women. Perhaps he has faced this stereotype towards himself or someone he cared about and decided to create this song. Like the other songs in this album specifically, it seems geniuenly written as something that he cares about.
